Eco-friendly Artisan Sea Glass Jewellery in Guernsey

MY ETHOS

Driven by my desire to create something eco-friendly, I started looking into ways to reduce my carbon footprint. Most of my designs are made using recycled sterling silver (925). I purchase my materials from ethically sourced businesses who strive to be environmentally conscious and only use sustainably sourced packaging which is recyclable or compostable.

The wonderful thing about using silver in jewellery, is the ability to reuse and repurpose it into something new and beautiful.

LET’S KEEP OUR OCEANS CLEAN

Finding sea glass is becoming more rare due to the introduction of plastic in 1907 changing the industry forever. In the 1950’s approximately 2 million tons of plastic was manufactured, where as today it is around 450 million tons. Sadly more and more plastic is finding its way into our oceans. It is estimated that 6.4 million tonnes of litter enters the sea annually. This has serious problems impacting the wildlife and ocean ecosystems. We all share this earth, therefore we are all responsible for doing our part in the proctection of our environment and planet.

This is why when I go out sea glass hunting, I frequently will do a beach clean. It is staggering how much I can find (and what I find!). To find out more, follow me on Facebook or Instagram!

How can you help? Every time you go to the beach, take a little bag with you and collect any items you find along the way. Every little helps!
